About The Lawyers
Born and raised in Kingston, John attended Regiopolis-Notre Dame High School and then Queen's University for both his undergraduate and law degrees. After working for a few years with larger firms in Toronto and Ottawa, John moved back to Kingston in 2007 and took over the law practice of David Caron, a partner at Black, Lloyd, Caron. When Black, Lloyd, Caron dissolved in 2011, John continued to run a busy sole practice specializing in real estate transactions, wills and estates and corporate and commercial transactions.
John is happy to be running such a busy and rewarding law practice in his hometown, and continues to serve clients of Evan Black, David Caron and now Alan Thomson as well as all the friends and acquaintances he has made here over the years. Whether you're buying your first home, needing advice regarding your Last Will and Testament or planning on buying or incorporating a business, John would be pleased to help you.
Drawing on his experience at larger commercial firms, John's practice is fully capable of providing sophisticated advice and support on complicated tasks that can include commercial mortgage financing, share purchases, commercial lease negotiations and succession planning for small businesses. While he enjoys the details of more complicated files, he understands that every client wants his or her lawyer to be direct and efficient. John will work with you to analyze and help you understand all the different sides to a particular problem and then solve that problem as quickly as possible.
